Hi folks

Has anyone done the 180 day extension for the DTV yet?

I’m applying via Muay Thai route

I checked with TMT Agents in Phuket and they say I need to provide documentation showing continued enrolment in the Muay Thai when doing the extension.

IS THE AGENT WRONG?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The agent is correct; to extend your DTV visa for 180 days via the Muay Thai route, you will need to provide documentation showing your continued enrollment in the Muay Thai program, along with other financial requirements such as a bank statement showing the necessary funds. It's recommended to verify the details by speaking directly with the immigration office.

You will get more correct information if you go to the immigration office and ask, but yes updated bank statement showing 500k funds still in the bank and ongoing courses you are having is what seems to be the requirements

As from this previous post you can see the documents that are required if extending in country.

You’ll get more accurate information by speaking to immigration. Go to their office and ask them. They don’t bite.

For in country extension you need to prove you qualify for the visa all over again including the financials and the activity.

The agent is correct. You'll need an ongoing activity to extend it.

Anonymous participant 108 ok thanks.

And how about leaving Thailand and coming back in? Do you also need to show ongoing activity proof?

I came back a couple of weeks ago and didn't have to show anything at immigration aside from my visa. I'm on a muay thai DTV too.

Most people manage to do it without needing to. I've seen one case so far where a work contract was requested. Keep in mind the purpose of a DTV Muay Thai visa is to practice Muay Thai... 😄
