A question for all the experienced in the group, the first 180 days of my DTV Muay Thai visa are about to end, I was planning to fly out and come back because Border Run will cost around 8000 baht, my question is has anyone entered a second time with this visa and been asked to present some kind of documents, money in the bank, registration for a gym?Or did someone ask for an assessment at immigration? What documents do they require? Thanks to all who answered.
Answer summary
A user is approaching the end of their 180 days on a Muay Thai DTV visa and is considering a border run for re-entry into Thailand. They inquire whether they need to present specific documents, such as bank statements or gym registration, when returning. Responses indicate that while many have been processed smoothly without additional requirements, some have been asked for documentation or questioned at immigration about their training. Suggestions include carrying proof of the DTV visa application and engaging in the Muay Thai activities as stated in the application, while some advise caution regarding showing any evidence of having fought professionally.

If you have any Muay Thai fights do not show immigration this! They’ll ask if you made money ( of course you did ) and you’ll be deported. My buddy made this mistake. Had to pay a “fine” aka a bribe orchestrated through the gyms lawyer to come back in.

The problem is which stories you should believe? I would tend to take notice of the authentic ones and disregard anonymous participant, nick names and burner profile posts.

Yes, many were asked to present all those documents, also money in the bank and in some cases they even called the Muay Thai school to confirm that they are really attending to the courses. So, good luck

Doesn’t cost 8000 for a border run. Drove to Laos border from Bkk myself, took fast track which cost 4000 and crossed back in a few hours later. No hassle no questions.

It's up to the Thai Immigration Officer on your arrival if questions are asked or not.

Suggest you have with you a copy of your DTV Visa Application documents you submitted with your DTV Visa Application... Just in case they ask.

Hopefully you did actively participate in the Muay Thai training which you signed up for in your DTV Visa Application.

If asked...say Yes I enjoyed the training and look forward to continuing it soon.

Do you have any photos of participation in the Muay Thai training? Show them if asked.

The questioning of DVT visa holders is essentially a rare happening.

Have a copy of your DTV Visa you received from the Thai Embassy or Consulate.

This is the message I post whenever I see a report from forum members that they have been approved for the DTV visa

"Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days."

Bottom line.. You should be okay with your entry into Thailand and get a NEW 180 day stamp.

For me I can't speak for other's, but I just brought the same paper back with the 5 year DTV approval and of course they see it in their system with your passport and DTV stamp. You shouldn't need all the other stuff.

That stuff was only for if you were going to extend for the entire year if I remember correctly.
