Do you need 20k cash if you’re entering on DTV? I got the visa based on evidence I hav 500k. Just curious.
Answer summary
When entering Thailand on a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV), there is no strict requirement for travelers to show 20,000 baht in cash. Many users have reported that during their entry, officials primarily ask for evidence of sufficient funds, such as a bank app displaying a minimum of 500,000 baht. However, experiences vary; while some travelers always carry the amount just in case, others have never been asked for it. It's noted that any traveler could potentially be asked for cash regardless of their visa type, particularly if they appear underprepared.

I was asked for it, it wasn't in baht but it was the equivalent and they accepted it.
In and out thailand for 5 years, stay in thailand 90% of the time. Last 2years dtv before that no visa, never been asked to show money. But the 20k rule is for all tourist visas and visa exemption and voa.
I always bring 20k baht just in case, even if I've never been asked. I know there's a chance you'll get pulled over, and more and more DTV holders are being denied entrance to the kingdom
ConfidentPapaya1511 you got a problem helping people and answering questions?? Maybe you should find another group. Obviously this person did not know the answer to the question. Maybe they don’t know how to search for previous responses in the group. Either way it’s easier for you to just ignore the question if it bothers you and much nicer than swearing at someone who is simply trying to find an answer to a question
ConfidentPapaya1511 wow!! Youre a really “nice”person aren’t you??? Telling people to go f themselves and attacking people for asking questions. I didn’t answer the question because others already had and god forbid anyone posting the same thing over again. Imagine what you would say to that???
Bloody keyboard warriors. You seriously need to take a chill pill and just relax buddy
I was approved Tuesday and was stressing out so much about this before coming into the country yesterday but decided to not get the 20K baht and they didn’t ask for it, they just asked to see my bank app with the 500K baht in it. FYI It appears first time DTV entries now have to do a short interview on entry into thailand, basically asked me to fill out a form with simple info. I had already been in thailand for 157 days on 2 visa free entries and 2 extensions so expected to be scrutinised more but I was fine! No need for the 20K.
