Asking for a friend who is visiting me in Thailand soon.
1. Are yellow fever cards requested by Thai authorities for travellers coming from Africa? Her whole family is vaccinated but one physical card has been lost. She has an electronic scan of it and we are wondering if this will be enough?
2. Do travellers coming from Africa, but transiting in Doha, need to pass by a special control or separate queue at BKK?
Thank you for any insights ๐๐พ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query concerns the entry requirements for a friend visiting Thailand from Africa, specifically regarding yellow fever vaccination cards and potential controls at Bangkok airport for transiting passengers. Community responses indicated that a physical yellow fever vaccination card is typically required for entry, even if an electronic copy is available. There is a dedicated screening area at Bangkok airport for yellow fever checks where travellers must present required documentation. Additionally, travellers transiting through Doha are also directed to this area for screening before proceeding through immigration.
You will need the physical card (same as all countries i have been to in Africa). You also need a scanned copy to upload with your TDAC and after landing go to the health desk where they take note of your seat number and give you as piece of paper which you need to present to immigration officer. Any questions ask think i took about 8 flights from Africa to Thailand this year
There is a special yellow fever screening/check area (even if you have a brief layover in certain countries you are directed to go there). They do ask for paperwork, flight info. etc (assuming they also ask for proof of vaccine here too). I would try to call or send an email regarding the lost card.
