Does anyone have experience with the new mpox reporting requirement when arriving from Africa/South America? From what I understand the yellow fever, T8, online registration is to be used. From my experience registration is straightforward and you will receive QR code approval by e-mail. When inquiring Ethiopian Arlines, they inform the T8 registration will be verified to allow check-in. Again from experience with the yellow fever registration but before talk of Mpox, when arriving at Bangkok, the health department would scan the QR code and issue a slip to be presented at immigration, for me it went pretty smoothly every time. Any new experiences?
TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers coming from Africa or South America to Thailand should be aware of the new mpox reporting requirement. It seems that the yellow fever T8 online registration is necessary, which is typically straightforward, and you will receive a QR code via email for verification. Ethiopian Airlines has stated that T8 registration will be checked for check-in. Upon arrival in Bangkok, the health department scans the QR code and issues a slip for immigration. Previous experiences indicate that this process has been smooth, but current travelers are encouraged to share their experiences.
