Do I need to translate my French criminal record for a Non-B visa application in Thailand?

Hello just a quick question, I have to apply soon for a Non B in Penang. Ive read on this group and get confirmation also by some agency there than 2 criminal records are no required to apply for a nonB for teaching in school. Do you think the criminal record provided by my own country (France) should be translated to Thai or English by an official translator before presenting my documents? or they may be able to read and translate french document.

If yes any ideas where I can find an official translator able to provide documents for consulate or embassy?

Thanks for your help.

Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the necessity of translating their French criminal record into Thai or English for a Non-B visa application while in Penang. They have heard conflicting requirements regarding the necessity of presenting a criminal record for teaching in Thailand. Comments suggest that official translation may be prudent and recommend checking with the French embassy in Bangkok for approved translators.

at the time i was in france it was still not required to get police recording from our own country, other option I was thinking is maybe to apply to another consulate who aoparently not requiring this one like Kota bahru.

If I were in your position I would have the French document translated into Thai before I left Thailand. The French embassy in Bangkok should have a list of approved translators.

If they don't need it, then you may have wasted a few baht, but if they do, and you don't have it..... a lot more baht!
