Do I need to officially translate my bank statements for an application in Taiwan if they are not in English?

Anyone who applied in Taiwan, did you translate your bank account statements? Mine arent English. I used google translate to get the pdfs translated in English but the pds has a line on top now saying "machine translated by Google Translate" - could that be an issue. Please only respond if you have firsthand experience in Taiwan, not just assumptions. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the necessity of translating non-English bank statements for a visa application in Taiwan, specifically asking if using Google Translate would cause issues. Comments from other users indicate varying experiences: one person used an official translator but didn't notarize their documents, another reported that their statements were in English, and a third mentioned that bank apps typically provide English statements.

Yes I translated with an official translator but it wasn’t notarized

I got my dtv there. I did not translate. Everything was English.

We did look up currency exchange rates and the staff there wrote the baht equivalent to USD was on my statements.

What website did you use for the exchange rate?

i used an app on my phone. I don't think it matters which you use as long as it's the official rate

Mid-market rate? Or say the Bangkok Bank TT buying rate, which would be the one that applies when you actually transfer money. Alternatively, the one that Wise uses for the amount you're trying to show (keep in mind that for large amounts, Wise won't quote if it's above 50,000 Baht as you can only transfer amounts above this to 3 banks, including Bangkok Bank).

Therefore, as a reliable exchange rate, I'd use the Bangkok Bank TT buying rate.

I used the official rate provided through Currency app. Their data is sourced from the European Central Bank with 0% commission. (Normal setting is 0.5% commission) I opened the app in front of them and we looked at the balance of each account and she wrote it down next to my USD balance

The Bangkok Bank rate includes a 0.5 baht per USD commission built in.

But honestly they don't care that much which bank conversion rate you use. No point to overthink this

I think every bank app has the possibility to get an English bank statement.
