Another one . . .

If I want to extend my visa for another 30 days at Thai immigration, do I have to buy and show a new covid insurance? 🤔

TLDR : Answer Summary
You do not need to buy or show new covid insurance when extending your visa for an additional 30 days at Thai immigration.

Nope. There is no requirement to have insurance for a 30 day extension.

We seem to have terminology issues. What visa have you got (or are getting) ? Visa on arrival is for specific nationalities and is only for 15 days. Visa exempt gives 30. A VOA is not extendable. A visa exemption is for 30 days.

a tourist visa is 60 days and you obtain it before arrival in Thailand. Visa exempt you get for free at the airport on arrival and is good for 30 days. Both can be extended for an additional 30 days (no insurance requirement to extend)

yes. The only extension that requires insurance is for a OA entry.

So I have to buy 30 days for OA. Can I buy less and stay 30 days anyway?

For an OA extension you’d need a year. Your extension would only be done for the period of insurance if it’s shorter than a year.

Great to know! I have a 30 day visa exempt starting June 2nd and I thought I would have to buy another month's insurance in order to extend an additional month.

That’s a logical assumption. And there’s a clue. 😆
