When applying for the 30 day extension for tourism, are they asking for proof of the $50,000 Covid insurance? I’ve seen many posts about the requirements and haven’t seen it mentioned, but just wondering if anyone had an experience with this.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a 30-day extension of stay based on tourism in Thailand, proof of $50,000 Covid insurance is not required. The necessary documents include your passport, copies of relevant pages, a TM30 form (may not be needed in Bangkok), specific forms from the immigration office, two passport-sized photos, and a fee of 1,900 THB.

They do not ask for health insurance for a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism. You will need the following documents for a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. [May not be asked at Bangkok Immigration] A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and want to use their special forms)

4. 2x passport pictures

5. 1,900 THB.

yep cool, I’ve done this before and pretty standard procedure here in Chiang Mai. Just didn’t know about the insurance as it’s a new requirement to enter the country.
