How can I cancel a DTV visa to switch to an ED visa in Thailand?
Hi everyone, I need some help.
Has anyone figured out how to cancel a DTV visa?
We need to switch to an ED visa. We cannot do it from within Thailand, so we need to fly abroad. However, from what I understand, we first need to cancel the current visa.
I would really appreciate hearing only from people who have actually canceled their DTV visa themselves and can share their experience.

With a 60 day visa you have 90 days to arrive, once you arrive you will receive 60 days including your arrival date. You can apply at your local immigration for a 30 day extension for 1900baht.
When I went to my local immigration for an extension I only needed another 2 days before leaving. They told me to just pay the fine of 1000baht, 500baht per day, which is cheaper. When I left Thailand I was flagged due to the 2 days, I paid the fine and departed. I did ask if it would affect my next visit and they said it would not.
