Hi ! Please can anyone clarify... I am doing my second land run to Laos for my 60 day tourist visa on the 23rd December from Bangkok. I am South African. Do I need to have 20 000 baht in cash to show at immigration ? I will be going with the Thai Visa Run company. Is there anything else I need to show? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
A South African expat is inquiring about the requirements for performing a land visa run to Laos for a 60-day tourist visa. The key concern is whether 20,000 baht in cash is needed at immigration. Comments suggest having proof of accommodation, a ticket out of Thailand, and the cash on hand is advisable. There's also discussion about extending the visa in Thailand and the procedures involved.
you will get another one in Vientiane. Only after the third consecutive one from that embassy, they will probably tell you that there will not be a fourth one back to back
you cannot do a "land run" on a 60-day Single Entry Tourist Visa. Either you extend it for 30 more days at any Immigration office inside Thailand, giving you 90 days out of this visa, or leave Thailand just before the SETV expires and come back on a 30-day Visa Exempt Entry or get a new SETV on the embassy of TH in Vientiane. Normally when entering Thailand it is safe to have the three things: Proof of accomodation for the first few days, a ticket out of Thailand within the duration of the allowed stay and 20,000 Thai Baht or other currency in cash
