TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, you are technically required to register any foreign guests staying at your residence. However, if your friends do not need to interact with the immigration office during their visit (such as applying for an extension of stay or residence certificate), it is generally acceptable not to register them.

If that person isn't going to go to the immigration office for anything while they are at your place (extension of stay, residence certificate etc) NOPE, just don't do anything.
