Do I need to be in Sri Lanka to apply for a Thai DTV visa from the Maldives?
I'm from the Maldives and there's no Thai consulate here. So I've to apply for the DTV thru the one in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Does this mean I've to be in Sri Lanka to apply for it or can I do it online while in the Maldives?

Jayne Harvey a visa based on retirement if over 50. You need money in bank account before hand, but getting a bank account before is a problem these days. Maybe get a multiple entry tourist visa first

Jayne Harvey it's the Non immigrant ordinary visa. Valid for 90 days and gives 90 days in the country, just enough time to open bank account. It may or may not be suitable but you haven't given any information to help people give best advice.

Jayne Harvey A visa that allows you to stay for 90 days, and then allows you to extend your stay for an additional year, if you meet the requirements. You can then apply for yearly extensions at the end of each year. Graham Seal posted a link above, or see here:

Maybe start with Google and after that , write down all the things you didn’t understand ( that could be many) and then just book a meeting with the thai Embassy in your country , I’m pretty much sure they can help you !!!

Non O if you over 50, if you are under 50 have a very camp shoulder bag and a man bun haircut get a DTV 😁

It depends on your intentions and your age. In the 1st instance it may be worth looking at an METV which is valid for 6 months and gets you stamped in for 60 days every time you enter, that gives you time to work out what you want to do long term

If you're over 50 maybe the Non-OA visa is for you at least for the first 2 years
