Hey, guys! I’ve heard that you no longer need to have a Covid-19 test prior to entering Thailand if you have a work permit. Is this true? I am from the US and have a work permit but it expires on May 24 of this year. I’d be traveling with my wife and two kids. Thoughts, concerns, updates?

Trying to make sure I’ve done my homework before in reschedule my flight and begin the journey.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The latest updates indicate that travelers with a Thai work permit do not need to present a Covid-19 test prior to entering Thailand. Instead, a fit-to-fly medical certificate is required. However, if the traveler is accompanying non-Thai family members, those relatives may face entry restrictions. It's essential to verify the current requirements from official sources like the CAAT for the latest travel regulations.

I like all you concerns but with a work permit he can not enter Thailand.

He need a valid Non Immigrant B visa or a valid Extension of Stay with re-entry permit. And as long as we do not know if he has, all is done for nothing.

Concerns are... dont come....or at least get very up to date local info. Its not fun. Most things are closed now. I know this is a visa site but if you dont need to come then dont.

My understanding is simple:

1. IF your children and wife are NON THAI, they would not be allowed to enter because they do not have work permits.

2. IF your children and wife are THAI, they would be allowed to enter if they have the fit-to-fly certificate.

According to Thailand you can enter Thailand with a Thai work permit and a Fit to Fly medical cdrtificate dated within 72 hours of flight time.

What nation passport does your wife and children carry?

True according to.l CAAT website which the airlines use to allow boarding. Only a fit to fly is needed. I had this confirmed by qatar Airways. See CAAT website for updates. Also if you have work permit you are covered by social care. No mention of the insurance either

Whether they accept other certs or forms, I don't know.

be aware their health cert template requests the name, date, result of covid test within 72 hrs.

Apply for a new year on your work permit at the Ministry of Labor, a work permit only lets you work and has nothing to do with your stay inside of Thailand.

Is your children and wife Thai?
