TLDR : Answer Summary
The first PCR test upon arrival at Phuket Airport is not free. Travelers are required to prepay for the test in order to obtain their Thailand Pass. Booking and payment can be done through the official website.

then you will need to pay for two RT-PCR tests as part of the sandbox.

You may wish to see what the outcome of Thai government meetings to be held Thursday as Test N Go MIGHT be reinstated...no guarantee it will but its on the agenda.

yes, Test and Go was an option before but now the hotel is booked and paid for so I'll do the sandbox. I don't really mind staying to look around Phuket for the week

oh ok thanks Stuart. I haven't read that fare into the Thai pass. Got the flights and hotel sorted, next is my insurance. I knew it would cast me $$ somewhere
