Hi All,

I would like to ask for some advice from those who have travelled to Thailand with kids. I will be entering under the Phuket Sandbox from South Africa, I have a one year old daughter and online there’s mixed information, leaving me confused. Does my daughter require PCR Test before arrival ? And does she need to be booked for Covid testing at Phuket Airport using PSAS or does she just get tested upon arrival ?

I would appreciate the feedback!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice about traveling to Thailand's Phuket Sandbox with a one-year-old daughter and is confused about the PCR testing requirements. Comments indicate that the daughter will need a PCR test before arrival and also a test upon arrival, and it's advisable to book tests through PSAS. Additionally, the user should consider potential scenarios regarding health insurance and childcare during quarantine.

Yes a 1 year old needs a PCR test 72 hours before departure and one on arrival at the Phuket Airport, but you must book the rest using PSAS.

Although rare, roungly 1:250 make sure you know what will happen in the event of:

You test positive, she doesn't. Who looks after her while you are in hospital.

She tests positive, you don't.

Who pays for your stay in quarantine if you accompany her.

Who pays for your following 14 days stay, after she is released, as you will be considered high risk.

Make sure your insurance covers for the above.

Also for asymptomatic care at a hospitel (not same as hospital)
