TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can bring a bottle of gin into Thailand. Travelers are generally allowed to bring 1 liter of spirits without issues. It's advised to put it in your checked baggage rather than carry-on luggage. Many travelers have reported successfully bringing alcohol into the country, and while it is available for purchase in Thailand, bringing a personal supply is quite common.

Come here to Cambodia. The government just ended all testing for incoming travelers. No PCR before flying, no ATK at airport. If you've been fully vaccinated, just walk in. Visas on arrival.

Land borders are open too, as of today.

I asked a similar question a while back and some bed-wetter on here declared I must be an evil alcoholic in a wifebeater singlet giving westerners a bad name. But like others have said - go for gold 👍🏻

not correct at all, there is much money to gain. Wine is much much cheaper in Europe for equal quality. Strong liquor likewise in particular if bought tax free.

agree, wine cheaper abroad. Unless duty free in Techalek. Then cheaper than anywhere !

Buy Lafitte cheaper than duty free in Europe. Single Malts cheaper than Islay. But due to covid, can't get their.

Chilean ,NZ wine quite inexpensive.

Not in Thsiland, at duty free at border

I'm sure people would say the same about bringing drugs until they do have a problem, the law is 1 litre.

Some people do get caught (even if it's rare) and the fine is kinda extreme for the value of the goods so it definitely ain't worth it.

Yes you can bring in one litre bottle of spirits, 200 smokes. Put it in your hand luggage or otherwise out of sight before you reach the hotel, technically it's not allowed in quarantine or at least it wasn't...

don’t worry about the quarantine bit , they went out and bought the beer for me, like everything else to do with Covid it was a farce.

don’t even buy it in duty free just wait until you get to the hotel, they will ask you if you want a drink. If I could of got it through customs the quarantine hotel couldn’t have cared less if I had a whole suitcase full of alcohol, they would have been more concerned about missing out on the tip for going out and getting the grog for you. As I said before nobody gives a f#*%k about Covid it’s all about the baht.

It's never a problem until you get caught, is it?

And don't think they don't check because they were pulling people over the last two times I came through, Covid or not.
