Someone recently was asking about land border crossing with different passports but comments are closed already. Actually it is possible. I did this trick in April or May. I left In Mukdakhan, then got Lao visa in clear passport (they just asked to show an old one), then came back in Mukdakhan in a few hours since embassy had some long holidays. Hope that helps.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shares their experience of crossing from Thailand to Laos and back using their old passport to obtain a Lao visa. They clarify that this method involves showing the old passport to verify exit stamps. Comments discuss the nuances between using different passports of the same nationality versus switching nationalities.

Yes, I'm talking about the same nationality. Not sure how it works for different nationalities but maybe it depends on a country you are trying to enter. Anyway, they asked me to show an old password to see the exit stamp.

you are confusing exiting the thailand on an OLD passport and a new (replacement) passport with exiting thailand on a passport from one country and then re-entering on a passport from another country

Are you talking about changing from an used and old passport and a new passport you got from your Embassy, or as the question was where you refer to did you change from a passport from a Nationality to an other passport with a different Nationality?
