TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion highlights mixed opinions about applying for residency in Thailand through seminars for soft power. One comment suggests that such an approach is unlikely to lead to a residence visa, while another confirms the existence of an accredited seminar for DTV, indicating potential pathways for certain visa applications.

I’m just gonna be very upfront if you think that you can live in five years here for taking some sort of seminar it’s not gonna work. It’s not a residence visa and they’re not gonna allow it.

Anonymous participant 941 that’s not only a pointless opinion it’s factually incorrect as proven by people who have been approved via this course

is a tourist visa Thailand reserves the right to tell you that you’ve been staying here too long. It’s not a five year continuous visa it’s a five year multiple entry, tourist visa. I think a lot of people are gonna be surprised at the border when they find out that, oh yeah, you completed your course like what are you spending so much time here for it’s not meant to actually live here for five years continuously back to back. It was never sold that way. People just interpreted it that way.

Anonymous participant 941 and again you have no idea It’s pure supposition on your part what immigration may or may not do

So again as I said ‘pointless’ Immigration may change all sorts of things eg allow people to stay 270 days in a row or all Singaporeans can stay forever visa free🤣🤣
