For US Citizens on the 45 day visa exempt for the first time (via air), is it correct we can only do 2 border runs per calendar year to get additional 45 day visa exempt renewals? I'm seeing mixed answers online. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
US citizens can perform two land border runs per calendar year to renew the 45-day visa exemption. There is no official limit on air entries, but the actual experience may vary depending on the immigration officer. Note that the 45-day exemption is set to revert to 30 days after March 31, 2023, but travelers can extend their stay by 30 days at a Thai immigration office for a fee.
If you arrive before March 31, you'll get stamped in free, visa exempt for 45 days. Can extend only once to add 30 days--

this is correct and we will know of the 45 days will be the norm on or around the end of March or if it goes back to 30 days for all border crossings...from what we learned during covid is that its not over until the last day...

Any visa exempt entry (either the current 45 day or 30 day) can be extended once at any immigration office in Thailand adding 30 days more at a cost of 1,900 thb

45 days visa exempt is scheduled to revert to 30 days after March 31

Two land entries per calendar year. No official limit via air. Until the officer stops you that is.
