Hi there.

About the 20 k proof of funds flying into Swampy.

Has anyone been asked and shown travellers cheques as proof.

Cheers.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question pertains to the acceptance of travellers' cheques as proof of funds (20,000 THB) when entering Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Airport. While some users suggest that travellers' cheques could be accepted, there is a general sentiment that they are considered outdated. One user defended their use, highlighting safety and the ability to reclaim them if lost, particularly noting the experiences of themselves and others on NON-O and Tourist visas.

Me and a mate do Tod.

Used them for years.

I know they seem old school but safer than carrying all your cash in one go. ( claim back if lost )

Tried bank cards but charged both ends.

Plus T/C last forever.

Note: I'm on non O

( marriage ).my mate on Tourist.

I thought I would throw this out there as I saw someone answer a post last week with the statement

' 20 k in cash or T/C for proof at airport '

Maybe someone will see this.

Thanks for reply Tod.

All you can do is try, BUT I'd sure have cash just in case they don't know what travellers cheques are ;)

they probably would be accepted BUT who uses them anymore?
