Hello, I am new to the group. I am planning a trip to Thailand in the fall. I already have purchased my plane tickets to travel. Because I am retired I thought I would stay a little longer to enjoy the country. My question is what Visa do you recommend for the time I will be staying? I already booked a Condo for 60 days in Bangkok, and plan to travel around the country after that. I never thought about the visa. Will it be a problem if I apply for a tourist visa 60 days and then 30 day extension, even if my plane tickets are for 86 days. Will the airline stop me from flying out of New York? Or apply for the type O retirement visa. I meet the qualifications for that also. Thank you in advance
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning a trip to Thailand and needs advice on the best visa for their stay. They have bought plane tickets for 86 days and have a condo booked for 60 days. They are considering applying for a 60-day tourist visa with a 30-day extension or a Non-O retirement visa, as they meet the qualifications. Commenters advise that if they leave Thailand before 90 days, they shouldn't have a problem, but the airline may require proof of onward travel. The Non-O visa is recommended for avoiding extensions and complications.
