TLDR : Answer Summary
The ability for your child to study in Bangkok while you hold a DTV approved visa depends largely on the school they wish to attend. Some schools may accept children under the DTV as dependents, while others may require an Educational (ED) visa. It's generally advisable to apply for a dependent visa for your child after your DTV is approved. If the child is accepted to a school, an ED visa will likely be necessary, and the school will help with the application. Additionally, international schools often have stricter requirements, demanding proper visas for foreign students.

If your child is accepted to a school, they will need to apply for an ED visa and you can get a guardian visa which, in my opinion, is better than DTV. No extra stress ☺️

Depends on school, its licences and requirements. Big international schools wil require education visa or non-O for all foreign students, and if your kid will be on dependant to DTV they will require to transfer to non-ED. Some small schools (legally aka education centers) could accept without any visa at all…

If your child gets admitted to a school, you need to apply for a Edu visa ; the school will provide the paperwork

You don't need any visa to study. If you're asking if your child gets permission to stay in Thailand just because you have a visa, then no. You would have to apply for a dependent DTV for them after yours is approved.

its not a great idea to get the kid a DTV if they will be attending school, many schools require they are on an ED visa

Only the crappy schools that want to dangle the legal status of the child as extortion for the parents to pay tuition. Same as the jobs that won't hire someone unless they switch from marriage to work.

Children under 15 years won’t be kicked out of the country when they don’t have the right visa.

but the school might require a Thai Visa.

The school will want the child to be on a visa. Some are OK with DTV while others want Ed.

It depends on the school. Some accept children under DTV, some require an ED visa. If DTV, it can be under a dependent.

I think u need to apply as a dependent for your child.
