Hi, my 30 day visa exemption on arrival expired on the 17th of April and I want to extend for another 30 days, should I go to extend ASAP or will it be ok to wait until the end of the week as I believe I'm covered under the Amnesty? And also do I extend at CW or Muang Thong Thani?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about extending their 30-day visa exemption and whether they should act immediately or if they can wait due to being covered under amnesty. A comment confirmed that they are indeed covered by the amnesty until April 30th, and advised on the best course of action depending on their travel plans.

First, you're covered by the amnesty, so you don't NEED TO get an extension of stay; you are covered until April 30th.

Second, how long are you planning on being in Thailand? If you are planning on leaving soon (before April 30th), I wouldn't bother getting an extension. If you're planning on staying, it's my opinion that you should try to apply for a 30 day extension of stay baed on being a tourist.

Since you entered Thailand on a visa exempt, you will go to Muang Thong Thani to get the extension of stay based on being a tourist.

Hi Benjamin, Thank you for your quick response. I plan on staying until at least June I reckon, that all depends on when borders open again as I will have to do a border bounce after I extend for another 30 days at immigration. Thank you for your advise I will go tomorrow to Muang Thong Thani and try apply for a 30 day extension as normal.
