TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have a DVT visa and obtain a new passport, it's advisable to carry both passports when traveling. You can stamp out using your old passport, and upon re-entry, the new visa stamp will go into your new passport as long as the visas are from the same country and you present both passports at immigration.

I have experience with visas different than Thailand's, however I strongly believe it applies to any visa. You bting both passports (old and new), yhe offices recognizes the visa was issued to you, you walk through. As long as both passports are from the same country.
