This brings up a valid point

How can you have a thai bank when you dont have the proper visa to open the account.

The rules of 800k in the account dont make sense when you first come here because your not allowed to get the account and there is no way it can sit there long enoughy

What is the official definition of a bank then and at what level can Somchai at immigration know anything about the west's various financial services providers ?

Wise has a sort code, account number, IBAN, SWIFT code, etc.

Is Nationwide a bank ? Technically it is a building society.

“Somchai at immigration “ says more about you than him. Somchai has a lot more power than you, try being disrespectful to his face.
