We have one way tickets to BKK on Aug 1st. I easily qualify for the new long term 10 year visa working from Thailand that starts Sept 2022. Can we use an visa on arrival to bridge the gap? Family of four with US passports.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A family of four holding US passports is planning to travel to Bangkok on August 1st with one-way tickets and is inquiring about using a visa on arrival before applying for a long-term visa that is expected to become available in September 2022. There are concerns about the lack of official details on the new visa and the necessity of showing evidence of onward travel when entering Thailand on a one-way ticket.
To use a bus ticket it must be an international route. You canβt have a ticket to a border town where youβd be able to walk across a border. Not all airlines will accept such ticket (although they should).
