Visa advice please..... when I return in August I plan on getting the one year Education visa and learning Thai. My fiancee and I plan on getting married after we return from England so once I have the Education visa, is it possible to go from Education visa to marriage visa? I am not eligible to get the non immigrant O, as I do not have a job in my home country, I tried last time and was denied without a letter from a UK employer. Does anyone know what I can do? Thanks for your time :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual intends to obtain a one-year Education visa for language study and plans to marry their Thai fiancé. They inquire about switching from the Education visa to a Marriage visa; however, they face eligibility issues for a Non-Immigrant O visa due to job-related documentation requirements. The comments suggest limitations on the duration of the Education visa and outline financial prerequisites for acquiring a Marriage visa in Thailand.

If you go abroad you can apply for a Single Entry Non O visa, which gives you 1 time 90 days, before these 90 days you can apply for Extension of Stay. If you apply for a 1 year Multiple Entry Non O you can go in/out Thailand as much as you like till the enter before date on the visa and become 90 days on each entry. If you apply within Thailand you can only become the Single 90 days Visa. The Extension of Stay is for all the same, before the last Admitted to stay date you apply for it with the necessary copies and you can stay 1 year but have do 90 day reports at immigration.

@Robert ******
may I ask, if the original O visa is obtained inside/outside of Thailand, is there a difference in how it is extended? For example, if I apply for the first visa in Vientiane, does that mean I must leave the country every 90 days? And if I apply within Thailand, I just do 90 day report? I'm sorry if I am not clear, but I read that if you apply first outside Thailand, you must leave every 90 days, but if you apply from within Thailand, you just do 90 day report.

You can AFTER your marriage apply at Vientiane for the Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage. This is one of the few consulates that does not require financial statements. If you like to apply for Extension of Stay based on marriage at local Immigration you need or 400.000 Thb on a Thai bank account on your name or an income statement from your Embassy of minimum 40.000 Thb a month. Both options are called marriage Visa, so not sure which one you try to refer to.

I do have in my english account and still have an active Thai bank account from when I was living and teaching in BKK so can transfer before then. Thanks for the heads up. Or maybe it is better to prove the amount in my English account?
