TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is on a tourist visa and wants to know if they can switch to a marriage visa in Thailand without exiting the country. Comments indicate that if the tourist visa is valid for at least 15 days, this switch may be possible. However, if the tourist visa has expired and the user is on visa amnesty, they cannot apply for a marriage visa from within Thailand.

Yes... you obviously need the appropriate paperwork. There is a list of “evidence “ you need that immigration can give you .

They are on amnesty, they CANNOT apply for a Non-Immigrant Type visa inside the country from amnesty..

Okay, now that we know you're NOT here on ANY visa and the entry stamp and/or extension you did have has run out putting you on amnesty we can answer your question correctly

NO

you cannot get a "marriage visa" inside the country :( In order to do that you need "real stamp" days left to apply (as Robert said 15 days or more) and you don't have any real stamp days you are on no stamp amnesty until no longer than the 31st of July

Thanks
@T**
for clarifying. Will look into other options then. Thank you.

All you can do is take the amnesty until the 31st of July, watch for the borders, nearby countries and thai consulates in those countries to open up and then make a plan of what to do.

Yes, no problem. As long as you have 15 days or more left on your Admitted until period you can apply for the Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage with a Thai citizen.

No, it does not count. You got an Admitted to Stay stamp and later you went or Extension of Stay permitted up to 06 May 2020.

You could apply for the conversion more than 15 days before 06 May 2020.

Hi
@Rob***
, i entered Thailand last 8th March and got another 30 day extension from April til 6th May. Then, under the amnesty i believe im allowed to stay until end of July with my tourist visa. Does this count on the admitted period? And how long is the Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage?

So you bought a tourist visa from a thai consulate and when you entered thailand you were stamped in for 60 days?

When does your 60 day tourist visa entry stamp expire?
