Can I request expedited visa processing from the embassy due to booked travel accommodations?

Has anyone had luck emailing the local embassy to ask for expedited processing, giving a booked flight or hotel as a reason? Would doing this be neutral or could it hurt the chances of approval?

In my case, I have a month long Airbnb in bkk that I am currently paying for while I am waiting for the approval process in Cambodia since canceling it was not an option, so Iโ€™m actually paying for double accommodation right now. I imagine that would be fairly decent reason to ask for it.

Would appreciate advice or information if anyone has tried it.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of emailing the local embassy to request expedited visa processing due to having pre-paid accommodations in Bangkok while waiting for visa approval in Cambodia. They are seeking opinions on whether this could be a valid reason or if it might negatively affect their application.

Let me get this right. You feel because you're paying for accommodation in two places, this entitles you to jump the queue in front of the plebs who are only paying rent in one place? Interesting sense of entitlement you have! But I guess that's the era we live in. Welcome to Generation ME

When did you apply? They have been relatively consistent in approving on time.

just recently but hoping to limit the amount of time I stay in Cambodia. Will stay if necessary of course

yes, Cambodia is 10 business days. Longer than some of the embassies in the region, but usually easier with paperwork

Erm Samuel what do YOU think!

use a agent ?

I am sure Embassy staff will appreciate being told to get their backside in gear and process yours first as you are inconvenienced. Let us know how it goes. In fact why not direct your email to the Thai Ambassador in Cambodia informing him of your inconvenience.

I agree with this. Directly emailing the ambassador will really speed things up!

Why would you have an air bnb in Thailand before you even arrived

had previously planned to stay and then apply next month in Taipei, but since it seems like Taipei is getting more strict I decided to just do it now at an embassy with more consistent success rate even though risking some loss on double payment

I doubt itโ€ฆ.not planning ahead on your part is not grounds for an expedited process on their endโ€ฆ.an urgent medical appointment or something sounds much better and might work

An imminent flight might be a reason to ask for expedited processing if you are close to the given processing time but the fact you chose to pay for accommodation in another country? I doubt that very much.
