Santander fixed rate isa maturing whilst living abroad

Hi all

Has anyone actually had a Santander fixed rate isa mature while living permanently outside the uk and were they allowed to upgrade or continue with another fixed rate isa or dose the isa get moved into a lower interest rate isa because I am no longer a Uk resident I know I can’t put new money into it anymore but would like to go again with a 3 year fixed rate isa thanks 🙏
Answer summary
The question is whether one can renew a Santander fixed rate ISA while living permanently outside the UK. The consensus in the comments is that you can keep your existing ISAs but cannot open new ones as a non-resident. Specifically, if your ISA matures, it may roll over into a lower interest ISA or remain as is, depending on the specific account terms. It's advised to check directly with your bank for personal guidance.

Buy a isa to save tax. Get smashed to bits with tax when you cash it. Put money in the safe best place for it

Transfer it on line to another isa easy to do.

You can keep isas that you already have even if you live in thailand. What you cant do is open a new one while not a uk resident. So you should be able to roll it over since it is not new money

only if it can remain as is, if its an account that terminates and sends the amount to your standard account you can't invest in another ISA

yes thats true but I dont know any isas that do that at worst they stay as the are but at a poor interest rate otherwise you loose the isa wrapper. I dobtvtgink anyone would use an isa that paid into a standard account on completion of the fix

Most UK banks should advise you in advance that your ISA is maturing and advice you if your options, either cashing out or reinvesting in a current or new ISAิ account.

Good luck🤞🏼
