TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers on renewing an expired temporary Thai driver's license for a 5-year version with an ED visa. It mentions the requirement of proofs such as residence, a medical certificate, passport, and the expired temporary license. Furthermore, insights from commenters indicate that renewing might be possible even after expiration, and questions about the need for retesting are raised.

Do you need to go through tests again for the 5 year one or is it just a straight swap over

that's because you had a license from your country when you got the 2 year temp license. ;)

yep, you need proof of residence, a medical certificate, your passport and your expired 2 year temporary license.

Go to the DLT office and get the 5 year permanent one
