A banking question. Has anyone gotten or does anyone have a non-resident foreigner bank account.

I’m on a 90 day O visa foreigner pursuing long term stay or maybe residency in Thailand.

Can you use a virtual address for a non- resident foreigner account? I’m exploring the country right now and have read businesses in Thailand can have virtual addresses for bank accounts.

My thought is any little “tid bit” you can get done helps you get more established.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the possibility of opening a non-resident foreigner bank account in Thailand while using a virtual address, given that the poster is on a 90-day O visa and exploring options for long-term stay. Comments suggest that many banks may require proof of residence, such as a residence certificate or lease agreement, and recommend checking with specific banks like Bangkok Bank, Krungsri, SCB, and Kasikorn for their specific requirements.

Go to Bangkok Bank, Krungsri, SCB, Kasikorn and check the requirements for non resident foreign currency accounts, Bangkok Bank has a foreign currency deposit section in the main office on Silom others I’m not sure, you can also check the website by typing foreign currency accounts.

What is a virtual address? Many banks will require you to have a residence certificate from immigration in order to open a bank account. Immigration will require proof that you're staying at this address with a TM30 in order to issue a residence certificate. Some offices may even require a lease.

Oh yes, the virtual address. A virtual address is way to maintain an address in a place with without physically being there. It’s like planting a flag, in a place so people can still send you stuff but you don’t have to be there.

Yes, I’ve read the standards and agree with your notes, but then stumbled on a few non-resident foreigner banking snippets.

For example, in the country of Georgia I can show up as a non-resident non-citizen and open a bank account.

To me it appears the same can be done in Thailand but non one seems to talk about.
