I have a Non-immigrant B visa that will expire this month.
I want to leave and re-enter Thailand on a tourist visa.
If I go to the Mae Sai border crossing, will I get a 14 day or 30 day stamp when I re-enter?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster has a Non-immigrant B visa expiring soon and inquires about re-entering Thailand on a tourist visa via the Mae Sai border crossing. Commenters clarify that if they are on an extension of stay, they need to cancel it at immigration before exiting. Additionally, they explain that exiting and re-entering can yield a 30-day visa exempt entry stamp, provided the traveler is from one of the qualifying countries. It's noted that the 15-day stamp was replaced by a 30-day stamp in late 2016.
Umm, he did that already ;) , that's what the stamp he posted says, it's a cancellation of his extension of stay and he has to leave thailand by the 10th of sept.
I'm thinking you don't have a Non-B visa and that it expired a LONG time ago and that you have a yearly extension of stay instead
Here's the difference between Non-B visa and an extension of stay stamp
The top two and the bottom left are all Non-B visas (two issued outside the country and one issued inside the country)
The bottom right is an extension of stay stamp you get at the immigration office. It is NOT a visa, and it needs to be canceled before you exit the country
Are you on the original Non-B VISA (that you got from a thai consulate) or are you on an extension of stay that you got from the immigration office.
If you are on an extension of stay you have to go cancel it at the immigration office first before you exit.
If you are on the 90 day stamp of the original non-B all you do is exit the country and the stamp cancels
BTW: You ain't getting a tourist visa because in order to do that you go to a thai consulate in another country and BUY one
All you'd be doing is stamping out of thailand, stamping in&out of Burma and back into thailand to get a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp (if you are from one of the 51 countries that get those). What is your nationality?
They stopped giving 15 day visa exempt stamps on Dec 31st, 2016 and went back to 30 day stamps.
