TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about entering Thailand by land for a third time to obtain a two-week stay, sharing their friend's recent experience with a visa run in Nan province. Respondents highlighted that typically, travelers can only receive two 30-day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year, although some exceptions may occur that deviate from the official rules. They advised caution, as exceeding the limit could result in illegal status in the country.

A last comment, it is TWO land border. If, due to a mistake or oversight the IO stamp you third time YOU are, technically, illegal in the country.

Because this post is getting into the "gray area" about things which might not be according to the rules, (by my post no less :O) I'm shutting it down.

The O/P has enough info to decide what they're gonna do.

Technically (as in following the posted rules) NO, you can't get more than two 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year.

Now as far as how things actually work out, YES, I have seen and heard of people getting another 30 day visa exempt by a land border after they have two already.

I have no idea how it works, and it certainly isn't playing according to the rules. :O

Yes, this is what I heard as well. So it mainly depends on a officer than the regulations. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

What nationality is your friend, they give 30 day visa exempt entry stamps to most people now.

The limit is TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year.

@Pe**
, then your options are to fly out/in to get another 30 day visa exempt stamp or get a 7 day extension stamp the immigration office (which isn't enough time) :/
