I have a 2 month tourist visa which has been extended for an additional 30 days. I need a further month and was planning a 'border run', coming back in on a 30 day visa exemption. Can I leave and come back in on same day, I will be flying to neighbouring country? I have UK passport.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user with a UK passport seeks confirmation on whether they can leave Thailand to a neighboring country and return the same day to obtain a 30-day visa exemption. Comments confirm that a same-day border run is possible, although it may attract higher scrutiny upon re-entry. Recommendations include using a land border for a bounce and considering nearby border crossings, such as Hu Nam Ron with Myanmar, for a cost-effective solution.

@Sama****
I think you could use one of the visa run companies and bounce out and back at the hu Nam Ron/ Htee Kee border with Myanmar in Kanchanaburi province far cheaper than you could fly out and back.

From the middle of Bangkok, this one might be the cheapest and fastest (means the shortest time to go and back) option.

That company goes every day.

Thanks. I am in Bangkok. I have no 30 day visa exempt entries to date. Nearest and cheapest border cross. I had thought about Malaysia as UK passport holders require no visa and entry is free.

you should be able to fly out and back the same day BUT I'd say you run the risk of higher scrutiny flying in and I'd have proof of funds, onward travel and lodging just in case you're asked for it.

As

said you could bounce out and back by a land border with far less risk of anything (as long as you haven't had TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land so far this year.)

Say where you are in thailand and we can direct you to the closest border crossing for a bounce out and back.

Yes you can. Or do a land bounce if it's cheaper or closer to you (except Poi Pet, Cambodia).
