Can I do a border crossing to Laos from Thailand for my 90-day visa report without hassle?
My 90 day report is coming up shortly, but I’d rather not spend hours at the immigration office again. I’m currently by the Mekong right on the Lao border- curious if I can hop across on one of the local crossings and come back without much hassle- ideally same day or after 1 night?
Anyone have experience with this? Borders around Chiang Khan and east towards Nong Khai. I heard land crossings tend to be more scrutinized, can anyone confirm this? Not sure what documents to prepare. I have a workcation DTV

It will cost you $40 or 1700 baht for a Laos visa. 90-day report is free and quick in most offices.

I did my 90 day report in 30 seconds in chiang mai. There was no queue. There was a queue for visa extensions but not for check in

Is there a Thai Visa Agent in the area where you live that could do the 90 day report for you ? The fee is usually very reasonable. And would save your time in doing a border bounce... which might have it's own problem and a Laos Visa cost...depending on the border crossing chosen.

Yes you should be able to bounce out and back same day. I don't have any experience in that eastern area other than Nong Khai
