Can I convert an Ed visa extension to a Non-B visa and then to a marriage visa in Chiang Mai?

It is not possible to convert an ED visa extension directly to a Non-B visa while in Thailand. Instead, one must cancel the ED extension, exit the country, and obtain a 90-day Non-B visa from a nearby Thai consulate. Alternatively, if employer requirements are met, a brief exit and re-entry could allow for applying for a Non-B visa at an immigration office. Once you have a Non-B visa, you can convert it to a marriage visa extension.
