Greetings,

I entered Thailand with a non-ED visa for an study semester, which has already been extended until the 16th of May for that purpose. I now wish to start an internship here needed for my curriculum as soon as possible (I have already a company here willing to provide me an internship).

Would it be possible to extend the visa while staying in Thailand, with a change of purpose from study to internship, provided that it has already expired?

Thank you in advance for your help

Erwan

Answer summary

Erwan, who is currently in Thailand on a non-ED visa for study, wants to know if he can change his visa purpose to internship while it is still valid and extend it. A comment suggests that as long as the internship is part of his study program and he has the necessary documentation, he may apply for a visa extension based on his studies.

Yes, if an internship is part of your study program and supported with documents from your school in home country or school in Thailand and the company who provide this internship you can apply for an Extension of stay based on study.
