Can you bring a pet cat on internal flights in Thailand from Phuket to Bangkok
Answer summary
Yes, you can bring a pet cat on internal flights in Thailand, but there are specific rules. Major domestic airlines like Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways typically don't allow pets in the passenger cabin except for service animals. Cats can be transported as checked baggage or in the cargo hold, but you need to notify the airline in advance. Official requirements include ensuring your cat is at least 4 months old, has a health certificate, and vaccination records, including rabies. The pet must be placed in a suitable kennel that meets airline specifications. It's advisable to check the specific airline's policy for the latest information before traveling.

You can but you must purchase a separate seat for each animal.

This is stunning how many people answering don't know what they are talking about, or are obvious cat haters. I suggest you join pet owner groups like Bangkok Pet Lovers where you'll get actual helpful advice.

I have a cat, goes flawless. important: the box needs to have underseat dimensions (max. 40x30x20cm), the pet needs to be lighter than 8kg, and - important - the pet needs to be chipped, plus its paperwork (international vaccination certificate including chip number).

Friend flew back a few months ago. The shot they gave his dog to relax it, killed it.
