Hey regarding obtaining a TR60 in Vietnam. I see that HCMC requires an online appointment now in order to apply for a visa, is that correct? I see the appointments are NOT available until late next week. If true and I cannot just TURN UP like before, are there any reports on Hanoi? Can I just turn up in Hanoi, since I dont want to stay in HCMC for another week just to get a visa... (yes I know other option is as US citizen a Visa Exempt also but... prefer a TR60....)

Thank you for feedback on HCMC / Hanoi.....

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about applying for a TR60 visa in Vietnam, noting that Ho Chi Minh City now requires an online appointment for visa applications, which are currently not available until late next week. They prefer to know if they can simply turn up in Hanoi for the visa application without an appointment. Comments indicate that Hanoi allows walk-in service for visa applications, while Ho Chi Minh City has stricter requirements requiring an appointment. Users also emphasize the importance of understanding specific visa requirements, especially post-COVID.

People, look at the visa requirements of the consulate first before booking ANYTHING. Otherwise you will have to keep on drinking in every city until your appointment turns up. Admin you can close comments.

I'm stupid I booked flight and hotel and then looked at the HCMC requirements for appt, next appt is next Friday, so yeah, I'll go party in HCMC thru the weekend then head to Hanoi so I can walk up next Monday and apply. Or I try a quick 2 day trip before end this week in Hanoi to get the visa and throw away the hotel reservation in HCMC.

Be sure you have the REQUIRED documents for the tourist visa... They are strict.

you applied PRE-covid shit show and right now if you're gonna use HCMC you make an appointment or you don't get in the gate. Hanoi is walk up service

Also READ the requirements carefully because they are sticklers about it.

Those are not the soft-touch, skate up, apply, get the visa consulates like they were pre-covid. They want you to meet the requirements or they don't give you the visa

Read VERY carefully the specific requirements for the tourist visa you are applying for in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

I've obtained TR60 in Hanoi and HCMC before. I don't recall needing an appt before, and today stumbled on a 1.5 week wait time for HCMC. I will go back to the website again but it points to me needing an appointment. There is no differentiation between visa type. I will get there tonight and go talk to them tomorrow at HCMC anyway in case I can't find a solution online. Searching for Ho Chi Minh here in this group are much older posts.... :-(

definitely no walks in.. you will be stopped at the gate.. security will ask to see your appointment.. No Appointment No Access... (even to talk with them) Hence why I went to Hanoi.. walk in service. As I was missing a document and had to make another appointment...

@Keef *******
