Can I apply through the Los Angeles embassy even though I’m a Connecticut resident and New York embassy is closer? For context I am visiting California for the next couple months so that’s why I’d like to apply through LA. Thank you 🙏
Answer summary
The ability to apply for a Thai visa at the Los Angeles embassy as a Connecticut resident depends on whether you can provide adequate proof of residency in the embassy's service area. Generally, embassies will only process applications for individuals whose official addresses fall under their jurisdiction. It's advisable to apply through the embassy that corresponds with your permanent residence or where you can substantiate your residency with necessary documents.

It's not up to you where to apply. They will process it only if your official address falls under their jurisdiction. It will depends on what documents you show to prove address either place.
I don't think it will fly. I get where you are coming from: since people can fly into Vietnam, etc and apply, why not be able to do the same with cities in the US. But it is probably best to just apply where you can provide a couple of pieces of evidence of where you reside.
Unless you have $400 to possibly burn and feel like being the guinea pig for the group that is. If so, go for it! 😀
