TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can apply for a Thai visa from Malaysia even if you are not a resident. However, be aware that the Malaysian embassy can be quite demanding with their requirements, such as needing six months of accommodation booked in Thailand and having 500,000 THB seasoned in your account for six months. Some suggest that applying from Malaysia could be more challenging compared to other countries like Vietnam or Indonesia.

Just don't do that. Go to Vietnam or Indonesia.

KL embassy most of the staff are interns so your application will be homework for them.

I knew this information because i dated one of the embassy staff a few years ago 😁

You can apply as a non-resident, note Malaysia is the most demanding embassy to apply from..e,g 6 mths accommodation booked in Thailand, 500k THB seasoned for 6mths.
