Hello all,

I believe I asked my question incorrectly and that's why the responses went away.

I am going to be in Egypt after my third extension of stay expires.

I am curious if anyone has any information on the Thai embassy in Cairo because it does not mention the education visa on their website.

If necessary I can visit Vientiane first to obtain my education visa for my second year of study but I would like to avoid this if the Cairo embassy offers this service. (I sent them an email but I have not heard back)

Background:

I am currently studying Thai language in Chiang Mai with an education visa.

I have a United States passport.

Can I apply for a new education visa at the Thai Embassy in Cairo, Egypt? (Once my third extension expires)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether they can apply for a new education visa at the Thai Embassy in Cairo after their current extension of stay expires. They are currently studying Thai language in Chiang Mai and hold a U.S. passport. The user expresses a desire to avoid traveling to Vientiane for the visa application process and mentions a lack of response from the embassy. Responses indicate that the user may not be eligible to apply from Cairo without a valid Egyptian residence visa.

It appears from the above that you are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply for an Ed Visa from Cairo as you will not have a RESIDENCE VISA for Egypt.
