Hi, if I’m planning on being in Thailand from December 1 to January 31, can I do this by getting an e- visa now? . How long in advance can you by one?
Answer summary
The user inquires about the possibility of applying for a Thai e-visa in advance for travel from December 1 to January 31. Community responses indicate that visas are typically valid for 90 days from issuance, and it is advised to apply around 60 days before travel to avoid expiration before arrival. UK takes a couple of days. Visa is valid for 90 days.
Apply for a 60 day tourist visa mid Ocotober. It cost $40.00, takes about 3 weeks. When approved it will have a valid from date and a valid until date, which will be 3 months from the time your visa is approved. That is why you wait until mid October. You have this period of time fo enter Thailand. Once there, go to the immigration office and apply for 30 day extension, costs 1900 bht.
No you can't get it now, it would expire before you reached Thailand. Visas are generally valid for 90 days from the date they were issued. I'd suggest applying around 60 days before you intend to travel
