Hi all, I have a question regarding Visa Application. Am I able to apply for the non OA Visa whilst holding a current non O Visa? I presume that once approved the OA will cancel out the O Visa but just want to make sure I can apply whilst it’s still current… or do I have to wait until it expires? Thanks for your advice

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus is that you cannot apply for a Non-OA visa while currently holding a Non-O visa; one must expire first. Additionally, applying for a new visa typically cancels any existing visa in certain cases. It's also suggested to consider the implications of switching to an O-A visa, as it requires insurance and a police background check.

With certain exceptions applying for a visa will cancel any current visa you have.

But like others said if you have an O why would you want an O-A?

Please explain why, if you already have a non-O, you'd change to the O-A that needs insurance linked to it and police background check. Just wondering.

Why would you do that?

Yes, you cannot hold or apply for two active visas at the same time — one must expire first either by date or if you leave the country without a re-entry permit.

You can only apply for a Non O-A visa in the country where you have your permanent residence.
