Hi everybody, I am a German citizen above 50 and currently here on an METV visa. It is valid until 4 Jan 2020. I have a history of many back to back entries on tourist visas or visa exemptions in the last 2 years. So far never had a problem with that but I read that the IO can reject you anytime even with a valid TV in the passport and I am a bit worried now every time I am coming into Thailand. Now I am planning to go to Germany in December and come back to Thailand before Xmas. I want to take the opportunity to go to the embassy and this time apply for a non-immigrant O-M.

Is this possible still having a valid METV visa in my passport? Can they simply cancel it and put the Non-immigrant O-M inside? Many thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user, a German citizen, is currently on an METV visa valid until January 4, 2020, and is concerned about the possibility of being denied entry into Thailand due to a history of back-to-back tourist visas. They plan to visit Germany in December and want to apply for a Non-Immigrant O-M visa at the embassy upon returning to Thailand. The user is unsure if it is possible to apply for this visa while still holding a valid METV visa and if the METV can be canceled upon issuance of the new visa.

I think it is time to stop the day dreaming. There are many visa's available but you have to do some research. And I do not believe that suddenly this page became the place where actors, celebrities and international real estate investments, with a portfolio of properties are the ones using and asking for back to back tourist visa. i know it is Sunday, but go out and enjoy yourselves.

Whether you can or can't understand how holding a visa doesn't give you the right to get into the country or not is not up for debate here.

I don't think you'll have a problem getting a new visa

BUT

the place you need to be asking is the consulate you're going to be applying for the new visa at..

Why not email them and see what they say about it?

I was hoping somebody could answer this here with a definite yes or no. Embassies/Consulates are not known for being very responsive but I will give it a try! Thank you very much for your quick reply 🙂
