Has anyone been able to get their Non-B done from previously being on the extended "Covid amnesty" visa? ...I've been told you need to be on a tourist visa in order to transfer over(?). As this is not possible without leaving the country (an that's not possible). Is there another way around this? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of obtaining a Non-B visa after being on the Covid amnesty visa, expressing uncertainty about the need for a tourist visa to facilitate this process and seeking alternative solutions without leaving Thailand.

once you drink the koolaid (take the free amnesty by letting what ever entry stamp you were really on run out) you can't get an in country Non-Immgrant type visa from any immigration office I know of that issues them :(

You have to be on a "real" entry/extension stamp not the covid extension and not the fairy tale "no stamp" amnesty :O

My understanding is that an amnesty can not be converted to an extension of stay, and the only option is to leave Thailand and re-enter on an appropriate visa.

You also can not work without a valid work permit and the appropriate visa.
