Is it possible to apply DTV in HCMC when I plan to travel there for 5 days only and wait for approval back in Thailand .

I do have the savings requirement met, and planning to do my own remote work online which has yet to start but there’s a draft of my plan which I won’t be working in thai or in any thai company.

TLDR : Answer Summary
It is not possible to apply for a DTV visa in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) if you plan to only stay for 5 days. Applicants are required to remain in Vietnam for the entire visa processing period, which can take at least 8 business days to a month. If you leave Vietnam during processing, your application may be canceled. Thus, it is crucial to stay in Vietnam while your application is being reviewed.

ABSOLUTELY NO... DON'T TRY IT

No. You go to hcmc, apply for the visa and remain there until processing completes. If that doesn't fit with your needs go and apply some other time

We were told by visa agency that if they find out, they can cancel your DTV application but if you apply from your home country, it can be okay. Very confusing but we just waited in Vietnam to be safe.

You might get away with it but it is against the requirements for the visa.

You cannot be in Thailand when you are approved. How hard is this

You are supposed to stay in Vietnam throughout the process

No you cant. They will ask for proof of location that you still remain in Vietnam such as a selfie and full pages of your passport. If they find out that you leave Vietnam during visa processing they will mot continue processing your applicantion

The document review and approval process takes time at least 8 business days, and in some cases even up to a month. You must remain in Vietnam during this entire period, so the answer is no.

- Hi...I planned to travel to HCMC to apply for my DVT there next month. I have friends, so I was planning to stay there for 3 weeks. Did you apply for your DVT there, and was the 3-month $15k bank balance a requirement, or was having proof enough? Please advise. Thanks.
