TLDR : Answer Summary
Obtaining a visa and work permit to perform as a troubadour in Swedish bars and restaurants is challenging. Generally, foreign musicians need to be employed by a company, such as a hotel or entertainment agency, with substantial paid-up capital (at least 20 million baht). Freelancing is typically not allowed, and there might be cases where musicians are issued work permits under different job titles like Chef or Manager. Advice and experiences from others suggest a complex process, with the need for an employer-based visa.

Employer can , but they will make your work permit as Chef or Manager, Then you can đ but you cant get as musician.
I think you can get a visa as a foreign musician but you do need to be employed by a hotel or entertainment company with at least 20 million baht paid up capital plus jump through various other hoops. You can't freelance
that's not my definition of freelance, nor being self employed. Regardless I don't think he would get a work permit on that basis unless he opened an entertainment company with appropriate capital
I have been asked by many Swedish bar owners if I can come and play there. Because most visitors come from Sweden and would like to hear Swedish songs too.
